The Colorado Rockies (8-20) host the Arizona Diamondbacks (16-12) at Coors Field on Sunday with the visitors looking for a sweep of the three-game series.The Diamondbacks lead the series 2-0 after winning 11-4 on Saturday.
Starter Tommy Henry went 5.1 innings to get the win, giving up four runs on seven hits. Geraldo Perdomo was 3 for 5 with a home run, two runs, and four RBIs in the win.
Christian Walker also went 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs. Ryan McMahon went 2 for 4 with two doubles, two runs, and one RBI for the Rockies.
ON THE MOUND
Ryne Nelson (1-1, 5.33 ERA) is slated to start for Arizona. The righty allowed four runs over five innings in his last start, a 5-4 road defeat against the Royals on Tuesday.
He took the loss, yielding 11 hits while striking out three. Southpaw Austin Gomber (1-4, 9.28 ERA) will toe the rubber for Colorado. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Diamondbacks.
Gomber made five appearances against the Diamondbacks in 2022, including two starts, striking out 10 and walking one over 15.2 innings (1-0, 6.32).In his last start on Monday, Gomber got the win on the road against the Guardians. He threw five scoreless innings and gave up three hits, striking out three and walking three in the 6-0 triumph.
