The Kansas City Royals (18-44) take one of the least productive lineups in the league on the road to face the Baltimore Orioles (38-24) at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Friday for the opener of a three-game series.

The Royals are in the midst of a six-game road trip. They are coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the Marlins, dropping the finale 6-1 on Wednesday at loanDepot Park. Nick Pratto was 1 for 3 with one RBI, stretching his on-base streak to 10 games.

The Orioles are back home for a six-game homestand after finishing up a six-game road trip (3-3). They lost two of three against the Brewers in their last series, taking the finale 6-3 on Thursday at American Family Field. Ramon Urias went 3 for 4 with a solo home run and a double. Gunnar Henderson added a home run and two RBIs.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Orioles have won two of three in the season series between the teams, including a 13-10 victory in their most recent meeting on May 4 at Ewing M. Kauffman Stadium. Yennier Cano got the win with two scoreless innings of relief.

ON THE MOUND

Daniel Lynch (0-1, 4.35 ERA) is set to get the start for Kansas City. The southpaw allowed five runs (three earned) over five innings in his last start, a 6-4 road defeat against the Rockies on Saturday.

He was charged with the loss, yielding six hits while striking out seven and walking one. Lynch is making his first appearance against the Orioles this season.
