Top 8 MLB Odds For The MLB Draft, 2022
Wed 13th July 2022

The MLB draft is almost upon us! But who are the top chances for the all important number one pick? Have a read on below at the top 8 MLB odds for the upcoming draft.

Druw Jones (-145)

Druw Jones is the clear favorite to be the number one overall pick in the 2022 Major League Baseball draft. He is an eighteen year old outfielder who is committed to the University Of Vanderbilt. He is a right handed hitter who stands at 6 feet 4 inches tall. He is mostly known for his glove, much like his legendary father was as well.

Jackson Holiday (+250)

Holiday has the next best odds to be the number one overall pick in the draft. He is another eighteen year old who will be coming straight out of high school, unless he decides to go to Oklahoma State. He is a left handed hitter and right handed throwing shortstop who stands at 6 feet one inch tall. He is also the son of a legendary MLB player.

Brooks Lee (+300)

Lee has the third highest odds despite being fifth in most mock drafts. He is a 21 year old shortstop from Cal Poly. He stands at 6 feet two inches tall and has already been previously drafted. In 2019 he was drafted in the 35th round by the San Francisco Giants but chose not to sign. The reason his draft stock fell is because it was known that he would forgo signing to play for his dad at Cal Poly.

Termarr Johnson (+1000)

Johnson is an eighteen year old second baseman out of high school in Georgia. He stands five foot ten inches tall and is currently committed to Arizona State. He is a left handed hitter who throws the ball with his right hand. Scouts have him regarded as the best prep hitter they have seen in the last several decades, perhaps ever. He has been compared to Wade Boggs and Vlad Guerrero.

Elijah Green (+2000)

Green is rated number three overall by most mock drafts but has the fifth highest odds. He is an eighteen year old outfielder who stands six feet three inches tall. He is a right handed hitter and throws with his right hand as well. He is currently committed to the University Of Miami. He is the definition of a five tool player according to scouts as he has it all and should be a very high draft pick.

Jacob Berry (+2000)

Berry is the seventh rated prospect on most draft boards. He is a 21 year old third baseman out of LSU. He is a guy who can hit from both sides of the plate and throws with his right hand. He was the national freshman of the year back in 2021 for the Wildcats back when he played at the University Of Arizona. He is a solid hitter with a ton of upside, despite the fact that his glove is still unproven.

Gavin Cross (+7500)

Cross is a 21 year old outfielder who played his college ball at Virginia Tech. He stands at six feet three inches tall and hits and throws left-handed. He didn’t really break onto the scene until he became a Hokie, where he became an All ACC Player in 2021. He has a ton of upside but unfortunately also a low floor as well, which is part of the reason he is mocked at the tenth overall pick.

Kevin Parada (+10000)

Parada is a longshot to be the number overall pick but he is still a solid player. He is a twenty year old right handed catcher who played his college ball in Atlanta at Georgia Tech. He could’ve gone much higher a few years ago but was set on playing in college. He is solid at the plate and can hit the ball to all areas of the yard. He will certainly need to work on his glove behind the plate if he wants to develop into an everyday player at the Major League level.
