SportsTips’ College Football Best Bets for Week 11
Fri 13th November 2020

Here are our best bets for Week 11 of NCAA football:

Miami @ Virginia Tech

Despite boasting a superior 6-1 record, the Miami Hurricanes will enter their weekend matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies (4-3) as the +2 point underdogs.

Miami’s quarterback, D’Eriq King had a day out in the Hurricanes victory over NC State last weekend. King threw for 430 yards and five touchdowns while also picking up 105 rushing yards to lead Miami to a 44-41 victory. Offensively, the Hurricanes look to have found their groove, while on defense their 41 points allowed in Week 10 was somewhat of an anomaly.

In four of Miami’s seven games this season they have given up less than 20 points on defense, with their only loss of the year coming against the at the time No.1 ranked Clemson Tigers. Contrastingly Virginia Tech have allowed 20+ points on defense in six of their seven games, including losses to UNC, Wake Forest and Liberty.

Virginia Tech came out on top last year, winning 42-35. However, Miami has won four of their last six meetings against the Hokies, and should add to that tally this weekend.

Best Bet: Miami Moneyline +105

USC @ Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats will be kicking off their 2020 season against No. 20 USC Trojans. Given that the Wildcats haven’t played yet, and they will be coming up against a USC team that won this matchup 41-14 last season, I like the Trojans to cover the spread.

In their first and only game this season, USC outscored Arizona State 14-3 in the fourth quarter to record a 28-27 win. It was far from convincing, however Trojans quarterback Kedon Slovis showed what he is capable of, completing 40/55 passes and accumulating 381 yards and two touchdowns. While both Drake London and Amon-Ra St. Brown were imposing on the outside, recording 100+ receiving yards each.

USC has dominated Arizona over the last decade having won seven straight games in this matchup. Given that this will be Arizona’s first game of the season, I like USC to continue their winning streak over Arizona, and cover the spread this weekend.

Best Bet: USC (-14) -115

Notre Dame @ Boston College

The Fighting Irish will enter this weekend’s game against Boston College having just defeated a No. 1 ranked team for the first time since 1993. If history is anything to go by, following Notre Dame’s 31-24 win over No. 1 Florida State in 1993, the Irish lost at home to Boston College 41-39.

Of course there is no guarantee or statistical reasoning to suggest that history will repeat itself. However, Notre Dame (7-0) will be both emotionally and physically fatigued from their most recent 47-40 double overtime victory over No.1 ranked Clemson. Furthermore, the Irish will be coming up against a dangerous Boston College (4-2) team that challenged Clemson two weeks ago and most importantly has covered the spread in five of its last six home games.

We are not confident enough to pick Boston College to upset the undefeated Notre Dame, but we like them to cover.

Best Bet: Boston College (+13.5) -110
