The University of Texas-El Paso Miners (5-6, 3-4 CUSA) and University of Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners (9-2, 7-0 CUSA) face off Saturday at Alamodome for their regular season finales. The Roadrunners are 17-point favorites, and the total is 56.5.
UTEP is coming off a one-sided 40-6 win over FIU at Sun Bowl last Saturday. Calvin Brownholtz threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Reynaldo Flores ran 13 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Kelly Akharaiyi caught three passes for 99 yards and a touchdown.
UTSA won for the eighth straight game last Saturday, beating Rice 41-7 at Rice Stadium. Frank Harris was 11 of 14 for 132 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He added 124 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Zakhari Franklin added a touchdown of his own. He had four receptions for 39 yards.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Roadrunners won the only game between the teams last season, a 44-23 victory in November, their fifth straight win against UTEP. Frank Harris threw two touchdowns for UTSA, as Zakhari Franklin scored twice. Gavin Hardison tossed three touchdowns for UTEP.
