The No. 15 University of Washington Huskies (8-2, 5-2 Pac-12), the Pac-12 Conference’s most potent passing offense, host the University of Colorado Buffaloes (1-9, 1-6 Pac-12), one of the conference’s softest aerial defenses, at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium on Saturday.

The Huskies are 31-point favorites, and the total is 64. Colorado is coming off a one-sided 55-17 loss at the hands of No. 8 USC at United Airlines Field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum last Friday, their fourth straight defeat.

The Buffaloes won the only game between the teams last season, a 20-17 victory in November. Dylan Morris tossed two touchdowns for Washington.


The Buffaloes are averaging 15.7 points per game for the season, 127th in FBS, and they are facing a Huskies defense that has surrendered 27.6 PPG (78th). Meanwhile, Washington has scored 38.4 points a game this season, 13th in the country, and Colorado is allowing 41.7 PPG (131st).

The Buffaloes are allowing 260.2 passing yards (106th) and 227.8 rushing yards per game (130th).


Through eight games, J.T. Shrout has thrown for six touchdowns (7 INT) and 137.5 yards per game to lead Colorado in passing. In four away games this season, he has one TD (4 INT) and an average of 101.2 yards passing. Deion Smith leads the team in rushing with an average of 47.6 yards a game over eight games. He has two touchdowns on the ground.

Jordyn Tyson is the Buffaloes’ leading receiver with 58.8 yards a game and four TDs. Michael Penix Jr. has 25 passing touchdowns (6 INT) with 364.0 yards per game through 10 games to lead Washington. In six home games this season, he has thrown for 17 TDs (2 INT) and an average of 367.0 yards.

Wayne Taulapapa has been the home team’s leading performer on the ground, averaging 54.6 yards a game through 10 games. He has eight total touchdowns, seven rushing and one receiving. Rome Odunze has been a star in the Huskies’ aerial attack. He has six touchdowns and a 101.6 yard per game average through nine appearances.


Colorado has yet to taste victory away from Folsom Field this season in five games. Washington is looking to remain unbeaten at home this season.
