#24 Kansas @ #3 Texas – 3:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Kansas Jayhawks have looked fantastic to open up the season, and they are coming off of a victory over BYU. Now they will face their first real tough test of the season as they hit the road to play the number three ranked team in the country, the Texas Longhorns. After four consecutive victories to open up the season in Kansas, finds himself in the top 25 of the country as they come into this game ranked 24th in the nation. They will be looking to further establish themselves as a solid football team, with an upset victory of the Texas Longhorns here on Saturday afternoon. They will have to play the best game of the season to date if they want to knock off Texas and establish themselves as a threat in the Big 12 conference.

The Texas Longhorns have had a fantastic start to the season and they are still flying high after they defeated Alabama on the road in Tuscaloosa. They will be looking to pick up a conference victory here on Saturday afternoon at home against the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas is a team that has given the Texas Longhorns trouble over the past several seasons in Texas will be looking to vanquish those demons here with a quality victory on Saturday afternoon, as they look to further establish themselves as a playoff contender. That is exactly what I expect as I have the Texas Longhorns picking up the victory over the Kansas Jayhawks here on Saturday night at home.

SportsTips’ NCAAF Pick:

Texas -16.5 (-105)

#13 LSU @ #20 Ole Miss – 6PM ET

Tony Battalio

The LSU Tigers are still looking to rebound after they were blown out by Florida State to open up the season. They have picked up some solid victories since then, but they will be looking to grab their biggest victory of the season here on Saturday night on the road in Mississippi against Ole Miss. It will be a massive top 25 win for Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers as they look to climb their way back into the top 10 of the country by stringing some victories together entering conference play. This will be a massive step forward in the right direction if LSU can get the job done here on Saturday night on the road in Oxford, as they look to prove to the college football world that they are still a playoff contender this season.

Mississippi will be looking to bounce back after they lost to Alabama last weekend and they will be looking to grab themselves and immediate top 25 victory in the process. They will be hosting LSU at home here on Saturday night, and it would be a massive step in the right direction for their conference championship. Hopes and their potential playoff berth helps if they can grab a victory over LSU here on Saturday at home to bounce back from the Alabama loss. This should be a close and competitive game between two solid football teams, but in the end I have Mississippi, pulling out the victory over LSU on Saturday night.

SportsTips’ NCAAF Pick:

Ole Miss (+120)

Iowa State @ #14 Oklahoma – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a rough season so far for Iowa State and they will be looking to grab their biggest win of the year when they hit the road to play the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night. Iowa State isn’t as good as they used to be and they will have to play the best game of the season if they want to grab a victory on the road against a top 25 team in the country. This game will also be crucial to their Big 12 title hopes as they cannot afford to fall too far behind Oklahoma and Texas  in the standings. Iowa State will have to play flawless football if they want to grab a victory and shake off the nightmare that was the Ohio loss on the road a couple weeks ago.

After a rough season last year, under first year head coach Brent Venables, Oklahoma has turned things around this season. They are a top 15 team in the country coming into this week five matchup at home against Iowa State, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Saturday night as they look to pick up another conference victory and their fifth consecutive victory of the season as well. It seems as if it’ll be Oklahoma and Texas that come out on top of the big 12 this season but first Oklahoma has to take care of business in this game. That is exactly what I expected on Saturday as I have the Sooners grabbing a comfortable victory over the Iowa State Cyclones.

SportsTips’ NCAAF Pick:

Oklahoma -20 (-110)

South Carolina @ #21 Tennessee – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The South Carolina Gamecocks will be looking to hit the road to Knoxville and pick up an upset here on Saturday night. South Carolina played a competitive game against the number one ranked team in the country, the Georgia Bulldogs a few weeks ago, but they were unable to pick up the victory. Now they have an opportunity to grab their third victory of the season on the road against the Tennessee Volunteers here on Saturday night as well as pick up a top 25 victory in the process. South Carolina will have to play a solid game and they will have to be more consistent with the football after they only put up 14 points against the Georgia Bulldogs a couple weeks ago.

The Tennessee Volunteers will be looking to pick up a quality victory here on Saturday night at home against South Carolina as they look to further establish themselves as a potential playoff contender this season. Tennessee will be looking to shake off their loss to the Florida Gators a couple weeks ago and prove to the country that they are still a threat in the SEC as well as the college football playoff conversation. Grabbing a convincing victory over South Carolina would turn things in the right direction for Tennessee and I expect this to be a close game here on Saturday night, as I look for South Carolina to cover the spread.

SportsTips’ NCAAF Pick:

South Carolina +12.5 (-110)

#12 Alabama @ Mississippi State – 9PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Alabama Crimson Tide bounced back in a big way against Ole Miss last Saturday and now they will be looking to pick up a victory over Mississippi State this weekend on the road. Every game from here on out is a must win game for Alabama if they want to remain in the playoff conversation heading into the middle of the regular season. They have seemingly figured out their quarterback issues, and it is likely that Jalen Milroe will be the starting quarterback, throughout the remainder of the regular season, unless he gets injured. They will be looking to pick up another solid victory here on Saturday night and get themselves back into the top 10 rankings heading into the middle of the year.

Mississippi State has an opportunity to knock off Alabama here on Saturday night at home and end the Crimson Tide’s hopes of winning the national championship before the month of October arrives. They will have to play a solid game here on Saturday night at home if they want to grab a victory over a very competitive and tough Alabama team that is seemingly recovered from the early season struggles over the past couple of weeks. They cannot afford to turn the football over and they will have to be very solid on the defensive side of the football as well if they want to pick up a victory in this game. Unfortunately for Mississippi State I don’t see that happening as I have Alabama taking home the win.

SportsTips’ NCAAF Pick:

Alabama -14.5 (-115)
