The regular season of college basketball is set to tip off in just two weeks, but we’ve already got one eye on our preseason picks to win to win the NCAA tournament in 2021.
Our Top Preseason Pick to Win The 2021 NCAA Tournament: Villanova +900
Despite ranking third in the preseason Associated Press men’s college basketball rankings, Villanova have maintained favouritism and are still our pick to be the last team standing at March Madness 2021. Currently at +100 to make the Final Four and +900 to win the tournament, the Wildcats will be competing for their fourth NCAA tournament title and their third since 2016.
Already with championship experience, senior guard Colin Gillespie will be looking to lead Villanova deep into March by building on a 2019/20 season that saw him put up 15.1 points, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Along with Gillespie, former five-star recruit Bryan Antoine (who struggled to play through last season due to a shoulder injury) is expected to be fit and healthy for the upcoming season. Villanova are -105 to win the Big East Tournament and lock themselves in for a big March Madness campaign.

Our Best Value Preseason Pick to Win The 2021 NCAA Tournament: Iowa +1500
Iowa came in at number five in the preseason Associated Press men’s college basketball rankings, with the majority of their 2019 starters returning for the upcoming season. Despite their ranking, the Hawkeyes have the eighth best odds to win the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Iowa will have arguably the best player in college basketball starting at centre for them in 2021 with Luka Garza returning for his senior year. At 6’11” Garza averaged 23.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game last season and was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and a consensus All-American. Iowa are the +275 favourites to win the highly competitive Big Ten conference, making them one of the most highly respected teams in the country. Great value at +1500.
