The No. 6 Arizona Wildcats (18-3, 7-3 Pac-12), one of the nation’s top scoring teams, travel to face the Washington Huskies (13-9, 5-6 Pac-12) on Saturday. Arizona beat the Washington State Cougars 63-58 at Wallis Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum on Thursday, their third straight win.
Azuolas Tubelis was the standout player with 18 points and 12 rebounds. The Wildcats are third in the Pac-12 Conference. Washington won their third in a row at home in a close one on Thursday at Alaska Airlines Arena, beating the Arizona State Sun Devils 69-66 in overtime.
Keion Brooks Jr. topped the scoresheet with 22 points. With 18 points and eight rebounds, Noah Williams also impressed. The Huskies remain seventh in the Pac-12 Conference. The teams are meeting for the last time this season.
Arizona will be seeking a season sweep against Washington after winning the only earlier matchup 70-67 at McKale Memorial Center on January 5, their sixth straight head-to-head victory.
Tubelis led the Wildcats with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. Cole Bajema had 16 points in defeat.Tubelis is averaging 19.8 points per game to lead the Wildcats in scoring this season.
Tubelis also has grabbed 9.6 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Kerr Kriisa is dishing 5.6 assists.Brooks Jr. (16.7 ppg) has supplied much of the Huskies’ offense.
