The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (13-5, 5-2 ACC) will try to break down one of the country’s top shooting defenses when they host the No. 19 Clemson Tigers (15-3, 7-0 ACC) on Tuesday. Clemson topped the Duke Blue Devils 72-64 at Littlejohn Coliseum on Saturday, their seventh straight win. PJ Hall was a top performer with 26 points.
The Tigers are first in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Wake Forest won their third in a row in dominant fashion on Saturday at Silvio O. Conte Forum, beating the Boston College Eagles 85-63. Andrew Carr had 21 points and 13 rebounds, carrying the team. The Demon Deacons are second in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
It’s the last meeting of the season between the teams. After winning the only prior season matchup against Wake Forest 77-57 at Littlejohn Coliseum in December 2022, their third straight head-to-head victory, Clemson will be pursuing a season sweep.
Hall led the Tigers with 21 points, while Hunter Tyson was a key contributor with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Daivien Williamson had 12 points in defeat. The Tigers have been led this season by Tyson and Chase Hunter, who are averaging 15.7 and 14.0 points per game, respectively. Tyson also has grabbed 9.8 rebounds per game, while Hunter has dished 4.3 assists per game.
Tyree Appleby has supplied much of the Demon Deacons’ offense, averaging 17.8 points per game. Appleby also has distributed 6.0 assists per game, 10th-most in the country. Cameron Hildreth has collected 6.1 rebounds per game.
