The No. 3 Virginia Cavaliers (6-0) and Florida State Seminoles (1-7) square off at John Paul Jones Arena on Saturday to get their Atlantic Coast Conference schedules started. Florida State was defeated by the Nebraska Cornhuskers 75-58 at State Farm Field House on Sunday, their third consecutive loss.

The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Florida State got the win in the only matchup between the teams last season 64-63 at John Paul Jones Arena on February 26. Cleveland led the Seminoles with 20 points, while Harrison Prieto added 14 points. Jayden Gardner had 21 points in the loss.

The Seminoles have been led this season by Caleb Mills (12.6 ppg), Cam’Ron Fletcher (12.1), and Darin Green Jr. (11.4). Fletcher also has grabbed 7.3 rebounds per game, while Mills has dished 3.3 assists per game. Beekman (11.8 ppg), Armaan Franklin (11.8), and Gardner (11.5) have powered the Cavaliers’ offense.

Gardner also has pulled down 6.0 rebounds per game, while Beekman has tallied 5.2 assists per game. The Cavaliers are shooting 50.0% from the field, ranking as one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the nation (24th).
