The No. 21 Dayton Flyers (2-0) are on the road to face the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels (2-0) Tuesday at Thomas & Mack Center. Dayton topped the SMU Mustangs 74-62 at University of Dayton Arena on Friday.
DaRon Holmes II led the way with 20 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks. UNLV won in dominating fashion on Saturday at Thomas & Mack Center, beating the UIW Cardinals 88-63. Keshon Gilbert had 23 points to lead the team.
Holmes II and Mustapha Amzil, averaging 16.5 and 15.0 points per game, respectively, have led the Flyers in scoring early this season. Meanwhile, Toumani Camara is grabbing 14.5 rebounds per game, third-most in the nation, and Kobe Elvis is dishing 5.0 assists.
Gilbert has been the primary provider of the Runnin’ Rebels’ offense, averaging 18.0 points per game. Luis Rodriguez is averaging 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
