The Stanford Cardinal (3-4) play host to the No. 21 UCLA Bruins (5-2) on Thursday to open their Pac-12 Conference schedules. UCLA dominated the Bellarmine Knights 81-60 at Pauley Pavilion on Sunday. Jaime Jaquez Jr. was a top performer with 27 points and seven rebounds. Stanford dropped their last game on Sunday at State Farm Field House, falling to the Memphis Tigers 56-48.
Spencer Jones and Harrison Ingram scored 10 points apiece to top the scoresheet in the losing effort. The teams are meeting for the only time this season. UCLA won both matchups between the teams last season, the last of which was a 79-70 triumph at Maples Pavilion on February 8. Johnny Juzang led the Bruins with 23 points. Jones had 22 points in the losing effort.
The Bruins have been led this season by Jaquez Jr., who is averaging 16.7 points per game. Meanwhile, Jaylen Clark is grabbing 6.6 rebounds per game, and Tyger Campbell is dishing 4.9 assists.
Ingram (10.4 ppg), Michael Jones (10.3), and Jones (9.1) have supplied much of the Cardinal’s offense. Ingram also has tallied 3.3 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Maxime Raynaud has posted 6.1 rebounds per game.The Bruins are one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the NCAA, ranking 22nd at 50.4%.
