The No. 1 Purdue Boilermakers (10-0, 2-0 Big 10) will be looking to prolong their winning streak when they play host to the Davidson Wildcats (7-3) on Saturday. Davidson beat the Western Carolina Catamounts 72-64 at Belk Arena on December 7.
David Skogman led the way with 17 points. Purdue won their 10th in a row in a close one on Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena, beating the Nebraska Cornhuskers 65-62. Fletcher Loyer tallied 22 points to lead the team in scoring.
With 11 points, 17 rebounds, and seven blocks, Zach Edey also impressed. The Boilermakers slipped to third in the Big Ten Conference. The Boilermakers earned the win in the last meeting between the teams 79-58 at TD Arena in November 2018.
The Wildcats have been led this season by Foster Loyer and Sam Mennenga, who are averaging 19.5 and 16.6 points per game, respectively. Mennenga also has grabbed 7.2 rebounds per game, while Loyer has dished 5.5 assists per game.
Edey’s 22.0 points per game have powered the Boilermakers on offense. Edey also has posted 13.7 rebounds per game, most in the nation.
