The No. 9 Arizona Wildcats (14-2, 3-2 Pac-12), one of the country’s top scoring teams, travel to face the Oregon State Beavers (7-9, 1-4 Pac-12) on Thursday. Arizona lost to the Washington State Cougars 74-61 at McKale Memorial Center on Saturday. Azuolas Tubelis was a top performer in the losing effort with 29 points and 14 rebounds.
The Wildcats slipped to fifth in the Pac-12 Conference. Oregon State dropped their third in a row in blowout fashion on Saturday at CU Events Center, falling to the Colorado Buffaloes 62-42. Dexter Akanno topped the scoresheet in the losing effort with 10 points. The Beavers remain 10th in the Pac-12 Conference.
It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Arizona won both matchups between the teams last season, the last of which was an 83-69 triumph at McKale Memorial Center in February 2022, their fifth straight head-to-head victory. Tubelis led the Wildcats with 22 points and seven rebounds.
Jarod Lucas and Roman Silva had 13 points each in the losing effort. Tubelis is averaging 20.6 points per game to lead the Wildcats in scoring this season. Tubelis also has grabbed 9.1 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Kerr Kriisa is dishing 5.7 assists.
Jordan Pope (12.3 ppg) and Glenn Taylor Jr. (11.4) have been the primary providers for the Beavers on offense. Pope also has recorded 2.7 assists per game. Dzmitry Ryuny has averaged 5.4 rebounds per game.
