The Oregon Ducks (2-2) will try to slow down one of the country’s top scoring teams when they welcome the UConn Huskies (5-0) on Thursday. UConn blew out the Delaware State Hornets 95-60 at XL Center on Sunday, their fifth win in a row.
Adama Sanogo led the way with 26 points and eight rebounds. Oregon lost on Sunday at Matthew Knight Arena, falling to the Houston Cougars 66-56. N’Faly Dante had 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in defeat, carrying the team.
The Huskies got the win in the last meeting between the teams 71-63 at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter in November 2017. Sanogo is averaging 21.4 points per game to lead the Huskies in scoring so far this season. Sanogo also has grabbed 8.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Hassan Diarra is dishing 4.6 assists.
Dante (14.8 ppg) has been the primary provider of the Ducks’ offense. Dante also has collected 9.0 rebounds per game. Will Richardson has distributed 4.0 assists per game. The Huskies rank as one of the highest-scoring offenses in the country, 21st-best with 87.2 points per game.
