The No. 9 Baylor Bears (21-8, 10-6 Big 12) will try to break down one of the nation’s top shooting defenses when they are on the road to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys (16-13, 7-9 Big 12) on Monday. Baylor topped the Texas Longhorns 81-72 at Ferrell Center on Saturday.
Jalen Bridges was the standout player with 17 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. The Bears are fourth in the Big 12 Conference. Oklahoma State lost their fourth in a row on Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena, falling to the Kansas State Wildcats 73-68. Kalib Boone had 18 points and three blocks in the loss, carrying the team.
The Cowboys are seventh in the Big 12 Conference. The teams are meeting for the final time this season. After winning the only earlier season matchup against Oklahoma State 74-58 at Ferrell Center on January 14, Baylor will be aiming for a season sweep. LJ Cryer led the Bears with 16 points. Caleb Asberry had 14 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort.
Keyonte George and Adam Flagler, averaging 16.3 and 14.4 points per game, respectively, are leading the Bears in scoring this season. Flagler also has dished 4.5 assists per game. Meanwhile, Bridges is grabbing 5.8 rebounds per game.Boone (12.0 ppg) and Bryce Thompson (11.8) have supplied much of the Cowboys’ offense.
Moussa Cisse is collecting 6.8 rebounds per game, and Avery Anderson III is distributing 2.7 assists. Opponents are shooting 40.4% from the field against the Cowboys, ranking as one of the country’s toughest FG% defenses (25th).
