The Oklahoma Sooners (11-9, 2-6 Big 12) will try to slow down one of the nation’s top scoring teams when they play host to the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (17-2, 7-0 SEC) on Saturday.
Alabama outplayed the Missouri Tigers 85-64 at Mizzou Arena on Saturday, their eighth win in a row. Noah Clowney was a top performer with 17 points and 14 rebounds. The Crimson Tide remain first in the Southeastern Conference.
Oklahoma lost their third in a row in blowout fashion on Tuesday at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena, falling to the TCU Horned Frogs 79-52. C.J. Noland had 11 points in the loss to lead the team. The Sooners are eighth in the Big 12 Conference.
The Sooners triumphed in the last meeting between the teams 66-61 at Lloyd Noble Center in January 2021. De’Vion Harmon led the Sooners with 18 points. Alex Reese had 15 points in defeat.
The Crimson Tide have been led this season by Brandon Miller, who is averaging 19.8 points per game. Miller also has grabbed 8.3 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Jaden Bradley is dishing 3.7 assists.
Grant Sherfield (16.4 ppg) has powered the Sooners on offense. Sherfield also has distributed 3.3 assists per game. Tanner Groves has posted 7.3 rebounds per game. The Crimson Tide rank as one of the most explosive offenses in the NCAA, ninth-best with 84.1 points per game.
