The Vanderbilt Commodores (8-6, 1-0 SEC) will try to slow down one of the nation’s top scoring teams when they head to face the No. 20 Missouri Tigers (12-1, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday. Vanderbilt topped the South Carolina Gamecocks 84-79 at Memorial Gym on Tuesday, their third win in a row.
With 24 points, Ezra Manjon was the scoring leader. Liam Robbins added 22 points, seven rebounds, and six blocks. Missouri won their third in a row on December 28 at Mizzou Arena, beating the Kentucky Wildcats 89-75.
Kobe Brown had 30 points, leading the team. This marks the only meeting of the season between the teams. Vanderbilt came out on top in the only game between the teams last season 70-62 at Memorial Gym in February 2022. Scotty Pippen Jr. led the Commodores with 19 points. Javon Pickett had 15 points in defeat.
The Commodores have been led this season by Robbins and Myles Stute, who are averaging 12.6 and 11.0 points per game, respectively. Robbins also has grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Manjon is dishing 3.1 assists per game.
D’Moi Hodge and Brown have been the primary providers of the Tigers’ offense, averaging 16.5 and 15.6 points per game, respectively. Brown also has averaged 5.7 rebounds per game. Nick Honor has distributed 3.6 assists per game.
