The Michigan Wolverines (14-10, 8-5 Big 10) will try to slow down one of the nation’s top shooting teams when they host the No. 18 Indiana Hoosiers (17-7, 8-5 Big 10) on Saturday. Indiana defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 66-60 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Tuesday.
Trayce Jackson-Davis had a standout performance with 20 points, 18 rebounds, and six assists. The Hoosiers fell to third in the Big Ten Conference. Michigan won their third in a row in dominating fashion on Wednesday at Crisler Center, beating the Nebraska Cornhuskers 93-72. Jett Howard led the team in scoring with 22 points.
With 16 points and 10 rebounds, Hunter Dickinson also had a strong game. The Wolverines remain second in the Big Ten Conference. It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams.
They last met in the Big Ten Tourney second round when the Hoosiers eliminated the Wolverines with a 74-69 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in March 2022. Michigan got the win in the only regular season game between the teams last season 69-74 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in March 2022.
Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 24 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. DeVante’ Jones had 18 points in the loss. The Hoosiers have been led this season by Jackson-Davis, who is averaging 18.1 points per game. Jackson-Davis also has grabbed 10.3 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Jalen Hood-Schifino is dishing 3.7 assists. Dickinson (18.0 ppg) has been the primary provider of the Wolverines’ offense. Dickinson also has collected 8.5 rebounds per game. Dug McDaniel has doled out 3.8 assists per game.
The Hoosiers are shooting 49.7% from the field, ranking as one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the nation (6th). Indiana is 7-3 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +4.6 (72.1-67.5).
