The Michigan State Spartans (3-1) welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0), who will be looking to add to their winning run, on Thursday. Alabama dominated the Jacksonville State Gamecocks 104-62 at Coleman Coliseum on Friday, their fourth win in a row.
Brandon Miller had a standout performance with 28 points and eight rebounds. Michigan State won their third in a row at home in a close one on Friday at Jack Breslin Student Events Center, beating the Villanova Wildcats 73-71. Tyson Walker had 22 points to lead the team.
Miller is averaging 20.3 points per game to lead the Crimson Tide in scoring early this season. Meanwhile, Noah Clowney is grabbing 10.5 rebounds per game, and Mark Sears is dishing 3.5 assists.
Joey Hauser (14.0 ppg), Walker (13.5), and Malik Hall (12.0) have supplied much of the Spartans’ offense. A.J. Hoggard is recording 8.3 assists per game, third-most in the country, and Mady Sissoko is averaging 6.5 rebounds per game.
