The Kentucky Wildcats (21-10, 12-6 SEC) take on the Vanderbilt Commodores (19-13, 12-7 SEC) Friday at Bridgestone Arena in the Southeastern Conference Tourney quarterfinals. Vanderbilt topped the LSU Tigers 77-68 at Bridgestone Arena yesterday in the second round, their fourth straight win.
Tyrin Lawrence was a top performer with 22 points. Kentucky won on Saturday at Bud Walton Arena, beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 88-79 to close out their regular season. Antonio Reeves had 37 points to lead the team.
Vanderbilt and Kentucky split their two matchups this season. The Commodores triumphed in the last meeting, beating the Wildcats 68-66 at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center on March 1. Jordan Wright led the Commodores with 23 points. Oscar Tshiebwe had 21 points, 20 rebounds, and three blocks in defeat.
The Commodores have been led this season by Liam Robbins and Lawrence, who are averaging 12.2 and 11.8 points per game, respectively. Robbins also has grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game.
