Houston won their sixth in a row on Saturday at Fertitta Center, beating the Kent State Golden Flashes 49-44. Marcus Sasser scored 19 points to top the scoresheet. With 11 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks, J’Wan Roberts also produced a strong performance.
The Spartans have been led this season by Joe Bryant Jr. (14.4 ppg), Cahiem Brown (13.3), and Bankston (13.0). Bankston also has grabbed 7.7 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Christian Ings is dishing 4.4 assists per game. Sasser (17.0 ppg) has been the primary provider of the Cougars’ offense.
Roberts is collecting 7.2 rebounds per game, and Jamal Shead is recording 5.3 assists. The Cougars are holding opponents to 47.3 points per game, ranking as the top scoring defense in the nation.
