The No. 18 Gonzaga Bulldogs (6-3), one of the NCAA’s top shooting teams, welcome the Washington Huskies (7-2, 1-1 Pac-12) on Friday.Washington defeated the Colorado Buffaloes 73-63 at Alaska Airlines Arena on Sunday. Braxton Meah was the standout player with 16 points and three blocks.
The Huskies fell to eighth in the Pac-12 Conference. Gonzaga won on Monday at McCarthey Athletic Center, beating the Kent State Golden Flashes 73-66.
Drew Timme had 29 points and 17 rebounds, leading the team. The Bulldogs came out on top in the last meeting between the teams 83-76 at Alaska Airlines Arena in December 2019, their fifth straight against the Huskies.
Filip Petrusev led the Bulldogs with 17 points, while Killian Tillie added 15 points and six assists. Isaiah Stewart had 21 points and 10 rebounds in defeat.Keion Brooks Jr. is averaging 14.5 points per game to lead the Huskies in scoring this season. Brooks Jr. also has grabbed 6.1 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, PJ Fuller II is dishing 3.3 assists. Timme’s 19.8 points per game have powered the Bulldogs on offense. Julian Strawther is posting 8.6 rebounds per game, and Nolan Hickman is doling out 4.0 assists. The Bulldogs are shooting 49.4% from the field, ranking as one of the country’s most accurate field goal shooting teams (28th).
