Princeton vs Yale – 12pm ET

Two of the oldest and most respected institutions in the nation will meet to see who wins the Ivy League Conference tournament. Princeton took down Cornell by a score of 77-73 in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Yale beat Pennsylvania 67-61 to get here.

Marko Nadin

Princeton and Yale will face each other in the Final of the Ivy League.  The Princeton Tigers finished the regular season on top of the Ivy League with a 23-5 record. Princeton has won the last 8 games including the conference semifinals against Cornell by 77-73. Princeton is ranked 8th in the nation with 80.6 points per game and 49% shooting from the field. They are a three-point favorite going in the final game against Yale. Princeton has covered the spread in 5 of the last 8 games on a neutral field but only once in the last 5 games against teams with a winning record over 60%.

The Yale Bulldogs finished the season second in the Ivy League with an 18-11 record. They defeated Pennsylvania 67-61 in the conference semifinals game. Yale has won 7 of the last 8 games against Princeton but has lost the last one. The Bulldogs have covered the spread in 6 of the last 8 games and 19 of the last 26 games played on a neutral field. In the last 19 games played against teams with a winning record, Yale has covered the spread only twice.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: Princeton

Tony Battalio

The Princeton Tigers are on the doorstep of winning their second Ivy League Conference Tournament. For the second time in the four-year history of the tournament, they will meet the Yale Bulldogs in the tournament finals. Princeton comes into this game with a record of 23-5 on the season and if they played in a bigger conference they would likely get an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. Princeton and Yale split the season series 1-1 as both teams won on the other team’s home floor.

The Yale Bulldogs are also on the doorstep of winning their second Ivy League Conference Tournament as well. Yale won the Ivy League Conference tournament in the last year it was played in 2019. The last time they played the Princeton Tigers in the finals, they were beaten by a score of 71-59 back in 2017. The Bulldogs put together a decent season as they are coming into this game with a record of 18-11 on the year. As for the result of this game I have the Princeton Tigers getting the win over Yale.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: Princeton

Noah Dunlap

The Ivy League conference tournament final gives us a great matchup between Princeton and Yale, two of the oldest, most prestigious (though not athletically) institutions in the country. Princeton has once again had a really good year, sitting at 24-5, and are looking to get this win in what is set to be the rubber match of the season series. They’ve been the most consistent team in the league over the past few years, and a win here would get them back to the Dance once again.

Yale hasn’t had the same consistency over the past few years, but they’ve proven to be a real contender, and they’ll now look to pull off the upset in this one. They got the win over Penn in the semis, but this is going to be a much tougher task. These two have split the first two meetings this year, but I’m leaning Princeton in this one, as I think they’re a sneaky team that could pull off an upset in the Dance, depending on the matchup. Give me the Tigers in a close one.

Noah’s College Basketball Pick: Princeton

Texas A&M @ #9 Tennessee – 1pm ET

Texas A&M is the last team people expected to make out of that side of the bracket. Meanwhile, Tennessee has been a dark horse all season long. Now, these two teams will meet to see who gets the Automatic Bid to the NCAA tournament and wins the SEC conference tournament.

Marko Nadin

The Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies will face each other in the final of the SEC tournament. Tennessee finished the regular season second in the SEC with a 25-7 record. In the first playoff round, they defeated Mississippi State before running Kentucky in the semifinals by 69-92. Tennessee has won 5 of the last 6 games against Texas A&M and are 6.5 favorites going into this one. The Volunteers have covered the spread in 5 of the last 7 neutral site games as a favorite.

The Texas A&M Aggies finished the regular season fifth in the SEC with a 23-11 record. They are coming to the finals after two upset victories over Auburn and Arkansas. The Aggies have covered the spread in the last 7 games and the last 6 following a win. They have done the same in the last 5 games as an underdog and the last five against teams with a winning record over 60%.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: Tennessee (-275)

Tony Battalio

The Texas A&M Aggies have gone on a miracle run. As they have three games in three days to get here. Two of those wins have come against top 25 teams. As they knocked off Florida in the first round in overtime. Then beat Auburn in the quarterfinals and Arkansas in the semifinals with a huge late run that blew the game wide open. Now they will look to beat their third straight top 25 opponent and win the SEC conference tournament championship on Sunday afternoon. The Aggies enter this game with a record of 23-11 on the year.

The Tennessee Volunteers have caught fire towards the end of the season. Now they are one step away from claiming the SEC conference tournament championship. The Volunteers come into this game with a record of 25-7 on the season. They have knocked off Mississippi State and Kentucky to reach this point and now they will look to knock off Texas A&M for the second time this season. As for the result of this one that is exactly what I expect as I have Tennessee getting the win.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: Tennessee (-275)

Noah Dunlap

Texas A&M just continues to cruise down in Tampa, as they’ve taken out Auburn and Arkansas in their last two games at the SEC tournament. Now, they find themselves in the title game, and they’ll be taking on the Tennessee Volunteers. The Aggies may have played their way into the Dance, but with them still being on the bubble, this is a massive game, as it would get them the automatic bid.

The Vols come into this one having taken care of Kentucky in the semis, though they did find themselves almost blowing a double-digit lead late in the second half. However, they did find themselves able to hold on, and now they get a chance to play for the SEC title. While this one isn’t as important for Tennessee, as they’ve already locked into an at-large bid at worst, a win here could get them a one-seed, with some of the losses we’ve seen over the week. This is going to be a good one, but with how A&M has played all week, I’m going to take them to continue the magical run, and get the win over the Vols, locking them in the Dance with the SEC’s automatic berth.

Noah’s College Basketball Pick: Texas A&M (+220)

Davidson vs Richmond – 1pm ET

The former alma mater of Steph Curry will look to make another trip to the NCAA tournament this season. Meanwhile, Richmond will look to make Davidson sweat out an at-large bid as they will look to steal it in this highly anticipated Atlantic-10 final.

Marko Nadin

The Davidson Wildcats and the Richmond Spiders will face each other in the final of the Atlantic 10 championship. Davidson has finished the regular season on top of the conference with a 27-5 record. They are coming to the final game after easy wins in the first two rounds against Fordham and Saint Louis. Davidson is ranked 9th in the league in three-point shooting percentage with 38.7% and 18th in field goal percentage with 48.4%. Davidson is coming into this game as a three-point favorite and they have covered the spread in the last 6 games as favorites.

The Richmond Spiders finished the regular season sixth in the Atlantic 10 conference but found their way to the finals with wins over VCU and Dayton in the previous rounds. Richmond has won 7 of the last 10 games against Davidson. They have covered the spread 5 of the last 6 games playing on neutral site games as an underdog and in 6 of the last 8 games playing in the third game of a 3-in-5 days situation. The Spiders have played over the total points margin in the last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 6 of the last 7 games on a neutral field.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: Davidson (-182)

Tony Battalio

The Davidson Wildcats have been great as usual, as they boast a 27-5 record coming into this game. Even with an upset loss in this game, they may still make the NCAA tournament by getting an at-large bid into the field of 68. Davidson has gotten to this point by beating Fordham and Saint Louis, both by double digits. Now they will look to get another bid win in this one and secure their spot in the NCAA tournament. If Davidson loses this one, several bubble teams will be getting popped as they would be yet another top team that has their automatic bid stolen as tournament favorites.

The Richmond Spiders are looking to complete their miracle run with a win and automatic spot in the NCAA tournament. They come into this game with a record of 22-12 on the season. Richmond has won three games in three days to get here as they beat Rhode Island, Virginia Commonwealth, and Dayton. However, this game against the Wildcats of Davidson is going to be their hardest test yet. Their only meeting of the season this year was an 87-84 Davidson win. As for the result of this one I expect the same result as I have the Wildcats getting the win.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: Davidson (-182)

Noah Dunlap

The last time these two teams met, we got Davidson squeaking by with a three-point win. I don’t think the result in this one ends up being any different. Richmond shoots the three-ball well and gets other points off of turnovers, but that’s about all you get from them. Their offense is extremely limited, and while they are playing better defense of late, I think they’re a touch too one-dimensional to be viewed as a real threat.

On the other side, Davidson doesn’t force many mistakes, but they also don’t make many. They rely on a consistent offense that is almost certainly going to hit roughly 45% of the shots they stake from the field, and they just grind you down that way. They’ve used this mindset to be one of the best mid-majors in the country this season, and I think they do the same here. The Wildcats sneak by with a tight one.

Noah’s College Basketball Pick: Davidson (-182)

#18 Houston vs Memphis – 3:15pm ET

Regardless of the result of this game, both teams will likely make the NCAA tournament. Both of them had very different paths, however, as Houston was hot all year and Memphis had a slow start to the year that had people calling for Penny Hardaways job.

Marko Nadin

The Houston Cougars and the Memphis Tigers will face each other in the final of the American conference. Houston finished the regular season on top of the conference with a 28-5 record. They are going into the finals after wins over Cincinnati and Tulane. Houston is on top of the nation allowing only 37.1% shooting from the field and is ranked 7th with 58.9 allowed points per game. They have won 3 of the last 5 games against Memphis. Houston is a four-point favorite going into this one and they have covered the spread in the last 4 games on a neutral field.

The Memphis Tigers finished the regular season third in the conference with a 21-9 record. They defeated UCF and SMU on their way to the conference finals. The Tigers have defeated Houston in the last two games including the last game of the regular season. They have covered the spread in 5 of the last 6 games on a neutral field and 10 of the last 12 overall games.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: Houston (-194)

Tony Battalio

The Houston Cougars have had a great season as they come into this game ranked 18th in the nation. Regardless of the result of this game, they will be included in the field of 68 during tomorrow’s Selection Sunday special. Houston is currently 28-5 on the season. Houston has been great all season and has some quality losses as well. They are a dark horse team to win the entire thing in my opinion as they have all the talent they need to make a deep run in the tournament.

The Memphis Tigers started the season very slow. But have turned it up towards the end of the year to put themselves in a great position to make the NCAA tournament regardless of what happens in this one. However, it would be much sweeter if they could get their second win over the Houston Cougars this season. Penny Hardaway is building something special down in Tennessee. However, as for the result of this game, I have the Houston Cougars getting the victory over the Memphis Tigers in this one.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: Houston (-194)

Noah Dunlap

This is an extremely intriguing matchup, as Houston has been the best team in the conference for virtually the entire year, but the one team that hasn’t been able to knock off is the team they now take on in the conference tournament final, the Memphis Tigers. To make matters worse for the Cougars, neither of their two games against Memphis to this point have even been all that close, which seems to suggest that there are just matchup issues all over the floor when it comes to these two teams. Both of these squads are locks for the Big Dance, so the only thing this game affects in any way is seeding.

I think this is a game that, based on what we’ve seen throughout the first two matchups, and how they’ve been playing as of late, I think Memphis should get the edge by a nose, but I’m going to instead go with the argument of “it’s hard to beat the same team three times in the same year”. Give me the Cougs in a tight one, and one that could get to OT if you’re not careful.

Noah’s College Basketball Pick: Houston (-194)

#24 Iowa vs #9 Purdue – 3:30pm ET

The Iowa Hawkeyes come into this one ranked 24th in the nation, while the Purdue Boilermakers are ninth. Much like a couple of other games on tap for today, regardless of who wins, both teams will be in the final field of 68 come Monday morning.

Marko Nadin

The Purdue Boilermakers and the Iowa Hawkeyes will go against each other in the final of the Big Ten conference tournament. Purdue finished the season third in the conference with a 27-6 record and is coming into the final match after defeating Penn State and Michigan State. Purdue is the third-best shooting team in the nation with 49.7% shooting from the field. They Are ranked 7th with 80.7 points per game. Purdue has won 7 of the last 10 games against Iowa and are two-point favorites going into this one. Purdue has covered the spread only once in the last 11 games.

The Iowa Hawkeyes finished the regular season with a 25-9 record which put them fourth in the conference. They defeated Rutgers and Indiana on their way to the finals. Iowa is ranked fifth in the country with 83.3 points per game on top allowing only 25.5 rebounds per game. Iowa has covered the spread in 5 of the last 6 games and 5 of the last 6 games against a team with a winning record. They have played over the total points margin in the last 6 games on a neutral field.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: Purdue (-130)

Tony Battalio

The Iowa Hawkeyes needed a deep three to get past the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten conference tournament semifinals. However, don’t let it distract you from the fact that this Iowa team certainly belongs here. They are one of my darkhorse teams to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament, as I could easily see them playing on the second weekend of the tournament in the Elite Eight. Iowa is a perfect example of a team that has gotten hot at the correct time and now they will look to cap off their late-season run with a Big Ten conference tournament championship.

As for the ninth-ranked Purdue Boilermakers, many people also have them as a potential darkhorse to bring home the National Championship this season. They come into this game with a record of 27-6 on the year and have even spent time ranked as the number one team in college basketball this season. It is fair to say this may be the best team that head coach Matt Painter has had during his time on campus. Purdue is easily a second-weekend type team as well in my opinion as truthfully I look for at least 5 Big Ten teams to be in the sweet sixteen. As for the result of this one I have Purdue getting the victory over Iowa.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: Purdue (-130)

Noah Dunlap

The Big Ten Conference tournament comes to a close Sunday afternoon, as the Iowa Hawkeyes take on the Purdue Boilermakers for the title. Iowa snuck away with their semifinal over Indiana on a last-second three-pointer, while Purdue took care of business with relative ease over Michigan State. Purdue was a team that looked like a one-seed for quite a bit of the year, before falling off just a bit down the stretch, which has them at a two-seed at best now. Led by Jaden Ivey, a guy who played like a contender for national player of the year for much of the season, they’re a team that can beat anyone on any given day.

Iowa, on the other hand, has played pretty much to their expectations all year, as they’re a solid team, but not one that many people think is going to make a deep run in the tournament. In this one, I think guys like Ivey and big man Zach Edey play difference-maker, and the Boilers win a close one, locking them into a two spot on Selection Sunday.

Noah’s College Basketball Pick: Purdue (-130)
