Indiana @ #18 Ohio State – 7pm ET

This Big Ten matchup between the Indiana Hoosiers and Ohio State Buckeyes is going to be a good one. As both teams are still fighting for their NCAA tournament lives at this point in this season. Both teams could use a big victory in this one.

Marko Nadin

The Ohio State Buckeyes have fallen to 5th place in the Big Ten conference with a 16-7 record. They are 11-1 at home and are going into the game against Indiana as 6.5 points favorites. The Buckeyes have lost 2 of the last 4 games including a 75-62 loss to Iowa in the last round. Ohio State has won 6 of the last 8 games against Indiana. They have covered the spread in 6 of the last 7 games coming off a loss and in the last five games played on Monday. The Buckeyes have played under the total points margin in the last four games.

The Indiana Hoosiers are 9th in the Big Ten with a 16-9 record. They are on a four-game losing streak and are hoping to bounce back against Ohio State after they won the first encounter this season by 67-51. Sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis is coming off his best game of the season with 30 points and 8 rebounds in the Hoosiers 74-69 loss to Wisconsin. Indiana has covered the spread only twice in the last 14 road games against a team with a winning record. The home team has covered the spread in the last five games between Ohio State and Indiana.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: Ohio State

Tony Battalio

The Indiana Hoosiers come into this game needing a big time victory to further convince the NCAA tournament selection committee they are worthy of an at-large bid to the big dance in a few weeks. However, it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that this Hoosiers team could end up winning the Big Ten conference tournament. They have more than enough talent to get the job done and beat anybody inside of the Big Ten conference if they bring their A game night in and night out. The Hoosiers come into this game with a record of 16-9 on the season, and 7-8 in the Big Ten.

The Ohio State Buckeyes come into this game ranked 18th in the nation and with a record of 16-7 on the season. The one downfall the Buckeyes have had is that they are vulnerable to being upset, which is something that carried over from the NCAA Tournament last year when they were bounced by Oral Roberts in the round of 64. The Buckeyes are currently 9-5 inside of conference play and are still fighting for a top seed and a bye in the Big Ten conference tournament. They are currently on a one game losing streak after being upset by the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday afternoon. However, as for the result of this game, I have the Buckeyes getting the win over Indiana in this one.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: Ohio State

Noah Dunlap

These are two teams who, in my opinion, should both be in the NCAA tournament as of today, but with roughly two weeks to play, there’s still a lot of basketball that could affect seeding and potential berths, depending on how they close out the season. Indiana comes into this one in a slightly more dire situation, sitting at 16-9, but the problem is they don’t quite have the wins that Ohio State does. The one thing about this Hoosier team, however, is that they play good defense that can keep them in the game against virtually anyone on any given night, now it’s just a matter of whether they can keep that going throughout the rest of the year.

Ohio State comes in at 16-7, and while they have a few losses that are head scratchers, they also have quite a few really solid wins that have helped boost their resume. These key wins are the reason I have them pretty solidly in the tournament for now, but with a loss to Iowa this weekend, if they were to come out and lose to Indiana as well, I could see those odds begin to shrink just a bit. In the end, I do think they get the win at home, but with the Hoosier defense, I expect it to be a close, low scoring affair.

#7 Baylor @ Oklahoma State – 9pm ET

This Big 12 matchup could get ugly fast as the 7th ranked Baylor Bears head to Oklahoma to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Baylor is one of the best teams in the nation and Oklahoma State has nothing to play for this season as they are on sanctions that will keep them out of the NCAA tournament, even if they were good enough to go.

Marko Nadin

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are 13-13 for the season which put them 5th in the Big 12. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 62-59 overtime win over Kansas State. The Cowboys have won the last two games against Baylor, most recently in January 61-54. Oklahoma State has covered the spread only three times in the last 10 home games. The Cowboys are among the worst shooting teams in the league with 30.2% from the three-point line and 66.8% from the free-throw line.

The defending champions Baylor Bears are second in the Big 12 with a 22-5 record. They have won 3 of the last 4 games and are coming off a 72-62 win over TCU. They have won 7 of the last 10 games against Oklahoma State but have lost the last two. Baylor has covered the spread in 17 of the last 26 games following a win and has done the same in 4 of the last 5 Monday games. Baylor has played over the total point margin in 5 of the last 6 Monday games.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: Baylor (-210)

Tony Battalio

The Baylor Bears looked like a guarantee to repeat as national champions earlier on in the season. However, after they’ve taken several bumps along the way and their weaknesses have been exposed the field looks more wide open than ever. Now Baylor comes into this game with a record of 22-5 on the season. As they are likely to be a number one seed in the NCAA tournament unless they manage to collapse between now and the end of the season. Their hopes of a Big 12 regular season title are slim at best as they are 1.5 games out of first with only a handful of contests left to play.

Oklahoma State is sitting exactly at the .500 mark at this point in the season with a record of 13-13. However, it doesn’t matter much as regardless of how they finish the season they are on sanctions and unable to compete in the NCAA Tournament this season. The Cowboys still have the opportunity to play spoiler, however, and a win over Baylor would accomplish just that. As it would likely dash the Bears’ hopes of being one seed in the tournament and shut down the slim chance they have of winning the Big 12 regular season championship. Although as for the result of this game I don’t see that happening as I have Baylor winning this one on the road in easy fashion.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: Baylor (-210)

Noah Dunlap

Unless Oklahoma State just decides to try to play spoiler, I think this is a game that may get out of hand early. The Cowboys truly have nothing to play for, as they knew coming into the year that wasn’t eligible for the NCAA tournament due to NCAA sanctions, and I think that explains a lot of their 13-13 record. They aren’t a great team, but they are better than being just a .500 squad, and I think not having anything to play for has affected them all year.

Now they take on a Baylor team that is going to have to get things going again if they want to be considered a legitimate contender to get a repeat title. They looked like the best team in the country for the first half of the season, but have struggled just a bit as of late, as they sit at 22-5 on the year, and don’t have much of a chance to get a regular season conference title. However, this is one of those games that they can use to get some momentum going again, as they try to get ready for a postseason run, so give me the Bears in a big way on the road in Stillwater.

Noah’s College Basketball Pick: Baylor (-210)

Arizona State @ #13 UCLA – 9pm ET

The question for this Pac-12 matchup is going to be about if Arizona State can find some more magic and beat the Bruins again. Like the first time these two teams met, it took double overtime and a home court advantage for the Sun Devils to upset the Bruins. Now it is time to see if Arizona State can do it in California.

Marko Nadin

The UCLA Bruins are second in the Pac 12 with a 19-5 record including 12-1 at home. The Bruins have won 3 of the last 4 games and are coming off back-to-back 20+ point wins over Washington State and Washington. UCLA has covered the spread in 7 of the last 10 games but in only 2 of the last 8 played on Monday. The Bruins have played under the total point margin in the last 4 games following a spread win and after a 20+ points win. Cody Riley, Johnny Juzang, and Mac Etienne will not play for UCLA against the Sun Devils.

The Arizona Sun Devils are 9th in the Pac 12 with a 10-15 record. Following a 1-6 run, the Sun Devils have won the last three games Washington State, Oregon, and Oregon State. Arizona State is one of the worst 20 teams in the nation when it comes to shooting percentages with 40.1% from the field, 29.6% from deep, and 66.5% from the free-throw line. They have covered the spread in 7 of the last 8 games following a win. The Sun Devils haven’t covered the spread in any of the last 6 Monday games.

Marko’s College Basketball Pick: UCLA (-1450)

Tony Battalio

The Arizona State Sun Devils are coming into this game with a record of 10-15 on the season. At this point, they will need to win the Pac-12 conference tournament if they want to make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament this season. They have dashed the hopes of some potential NCAA tournament teams in recent days as they knocked off Washington State, Oregon, and Oregon State en route to a three game winning streak. They also have some big resume defining wins like one in double overtime over UCLA. However, unless they can make a storybook run to a conference tournament title none of it will matter.

The UCLA Bruins have had a rough year, as they’ve dropped some big games and had trouble getting on the court due to COVID-19 protocols. Now the Bruins come into this game ranked 13th in the nation and with a record of 19-5 on the season, as they are a virtual lock for the NCAA Tournament and have their sights set on a potential number one seed as well. The Bruins are currently on a two game winning streak that they will be looking to extend in this game. As for the result of this game that is exactly what I expect as I have the UCLA Bruins getting the win in this one at home with ease.

Tony’s College Basketball Pick: UCLA (-1450)

Noah Dunlap

Bruins. Big.

Firstly, the Arizona State Sun Devils aren’t very good, as they sit at 10-15 on the year, and barring a magical run through the Pac-12 tournament, their season is virtually already over. Their offense is atrocious, and the defense is extremely hit or miss as to how much effort they put in night in and night out. Now they take on a UCLA team that has struggled just a bit as of late, and I think the Bruins are going to be looking to use this one as a way to get back on track.

UCLA has been good this year, but arguably a touch disappointing, as they only come in ranked 13th in the country. They are still squarely in the conversation to win the PAC-12, but they are going to have to go undefeated the rest of the way to have a shot. That’s going to be easy for this one at least, as they’ve already gotten shocked by this ASU squad earlier this year in Tempe. Now, with the Devils coming to LA, look for the Bruins to come out and play with a purpose, trying to get serious revenge for the earlier loss, as well as making a statement heading down the stretch of the regular season. UCLA by at least 20, and probably more.

Noah’s College Basketball Pick: UCLA (-1450)
