The No. 12 Baylor Bears (9-2) will be out to prolong their winning run when they welcome the Nicholls Colonels (6-6, 1-0 Southland) on Wednesday. Nicholls blew out the Trinity Baptist Eagles 90-46 at David R. Stopher Gym on December 19. Caleb Huffman led the way with 19 points.
Baylor won their fourth in a row on December 20 at Ferrell Center, beating the Northwestern State Demons 58-48. Jalen Bridges had 13 points and seven rebounds, carrying the team. It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams.
Baylor got the win in the only matchup between the teams last season 89-60 at Ferrell Center in November 2021. LJ Cryer led the Bears with 20 points. Ty Gordon had 20 points in defeat.
Latrell Jones and Huffman, averaging 15.5 and 15.4 points per game, respectively, are leading the Colonels in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Manny Littles is grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game, and Micah Thomas is dishing 4.3 assists. Keyonte George (15.1 ppg) and Cryer (13.5) have been the primary providers of the Bears’ offense.
