The No. 7 Baylor Bears (4-1), one of the nation’s top scoring teams, play host to the McNeese State Cowboys (2-3) on Wednesday. McNeese State topped the Lamar Cardinals 66-57 at The Legacy Center on Sunday.
Trae English led the way with 17 points. Baylor got the win on Sunday at T-Mobile Arena, beating the UCLA Bruins 80-75. LJ Cryer had 28 points to lead the team. The Bears got the win in the last meeting between the teams 80-39 at Ferrell Center in November 2014.
The Cowboys have been led so far this season by Christian Shumate, who is averaging 12.8 points per game. Shumate also has grabbed 10.6 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, English is dishing 3.0 assists. Cryer and Adam Flagler have supplied much of the Bears’ offense, averaging 18.0 and 17.8 points per game, respectively.
Flagler also has distributed 6.8 assists per game. Caleb Lohner has averaged 5.8 rebounds per game. With 91.6 points per game, the Bears are one of the most explosive offenses in the NCAA (11th).
