Offense meets defense when the No. 17 Baylor Bears (15-5, 5-3 Big 12) play host to the Arkansas Razorbacks (14-6, 3-5 SEC) on Saturday.Arkansas outplayed the LSU Tigers 60-40 at Bud Walton Arena on Tuesday.
Davonte Davis was the standout player with 16 points and seven rebounds. The Razorbacks are 10th in the Southeastern Conference. Baylor won their fifth in a row on Monday at Ferrell Center, beating the Kansas Jayhawks 75-69.
LJ Cryer tallied 22 points to top the scoresheet. With 11 points and nine rebounds, Jalen Bridges also impressed. The Bears slipped to fifth in the Big 12 Conference. The Bears took the last meeting between the teams 81-72 at Lucas Oil Stadium in March 2021. MaCio Teague led the Bears with 22 points.
JD Notae and Davonte Davis had 14 points each in the loss. Ricky Council IV is averaging 16.8 points per game to lead the Razorbacks in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Makhi Mitchell is grabbing 5.9 rebounds per game, and Anthony Black is dishing 4.0 assists.
Keyonte George (16.9 ppg) and Adam Flagler (14.5) have been the primary providers for the Bears on offense. Flagler also has doled out 4.6 assists per game. Bridges has posted 5.7 rebounds per game.
