The No. 13 Arkansas Razorbacks (12-2, 1-1 SEC), one of the top shooting teams in the Southeastern Conference, are on the road to face the No. 22 Auburn Tigers (11-3, 1-1 SEC) on Saturday. Arkansas defeated the Missouri Tigers 74-68 at Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday. With 25 points and seven rebounds, Ricky Council IV had a standout performance.
The Razorbacks are sixth in the Southeastern Conference. Auburn dropped their last game on Wednesday at Stegeman Coliseum, falling to the Georgia Bulldogs 76-64. Johni Broome had 22 points and 12 rebounds in defeat to lead the team. The Tigers fell to eighth in the Southeastern Conference.
This marks the only meeting of the season between the teams. Arkansas came out on top in the only game between the teams last season 80-76 at Bud Walton Arena in February 2022, their third straight head-to-head victory. JD Notae led the Razorbacks with 28 points and four blocks.
Jabari Smith had 20 points in the loss. The Razorbacks have been led this season by Council IV, who is averaging 18.4 points per game. Meanwhile, Makhi Mitchell is grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game, and Anthony Black is dishing 3.8 assists.
Wendell Green Jr. (12.3 ppg) and Broome (12.1) have supplied much of the Tigers’ offense. Broome also has averaged 8.1 rebounds per game, while Green Jr. has tallied 3.5 assists per game. Shooting 48.5% from the field, the Razorbacks are one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the conference (2nd).
