The Washington Huskies (9-6, 1-3 Pac-12) will try to slow down one of the country’s top scoring teams when they travel to face the No. 5 Arizona Wildcats (13-1, 2-1 Pac-12) on Thursday.
Washington was dismantled by the UCLA Bruins 74-49 at Alaska Airlines Arena on Sunday, their third loss in a row. With 20 points and three blocks, Braxton Meah had a standout performance in the loss.
The Huskies remain eighth in the Pac-12 Conference. Arizona won their seventh in a row on Saturday at Desert Financial Arena, beating the Arizona State Sun Devils 69-60. Azuolas Tubelis had 21 points and nine rebounds, leading the team. The Wildcats fell to sixth in the Pac-12 Conference.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Arizona won both games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 92-68 triumph at Alaska Airlines Arena in February 2022, their fifth straight head-to-head victory. Bennedict Mathurin led the Wildcats with 25 points.
Terrell Brown Jr. had 29 points in the loss. Keion Brooks Jr. is averaging 15.1 points per game to lead the Huskies in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Meah is grabbing 5.9 rebounds per game, and PJ Fuller II is dishing 3.0 assists. Tubelis (20.1 ppg) and Oumar Ballo (17.4) have powered the Wildcats’ offense. Ballo also has averaged 9.3 rebounds per game.
Kerr Kriisa has tallied 6.0 assists per game. The Wildcats are one of the most explosive offenses in the NCAA, ranking fourth with 88.7 points per game.
