The Arizona Wildcats (25-6, 14-6 Pac-12) face off against the Stanford Cardinal (14-18, 8-13 Pac-12) Thursday at T-Mobile Arena in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament.
Stanford defeated the Utah Runnin’ Utes 73-62 at T-Mobile Arena yesterday in the first round. With 16 points and 12 rebounds, Brandon Angel was the standout player.
Arizona lost on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion, falling to the UCLA Bruins 82-73 to close out their regular season. Azuolas Tubelis had 24 points and 10 rebounds in defeat to lead the team.
Stanford got the win in the only matchup against Arizona this season 88-79 at Maples Pavilion on February 11. Michael O’Connell led the Cardinal with 22 points.
Courtney Ramey had 26 points and six rebounds in the loss. The Cardinal have been led this season by Spencer Jones, who is averaging 13.4 points per game.
Meanwhile, Maxime Raynaud is grabbing 6.1 rebounds per game, and Harrison Ingram is dishing 3.6 assists. Tubelis (19.9 ppg) has powered the Wildcats on offense. Tubelis also has collected 9.2 rebounds per game. Kerr Kriisa has recorded 5.4 assists per game.
With 83.1 points per game, the Wildcats are one of the top scoring offenses in the nation (4th). Stanford is 4-6 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +0.1 (72.2-72.1).
