The Oregon State Beavers (9-14, 3-9 Pac-12) will try to slow down one of the nation’s top scoring teams when they travel to face the No. 5 Arizona Wildcats (20-3, 9-3 Pac-12) on Saturday. Oregon State was defeated by the Arizona State Sun Devils 68-57 at Desert Financial Arena on Thursday.

Jordan Pope was the scoring leader in defeat with 14 points. The Beavers remain 11th in the Pac-12 Conference. Arizona won their fifth in a row on Thursday at McKale Memorial Center, beating the Oregon Ducks 91-76. Azuolas Tubelis had 40 points and nine rebounds to lead the team. The Wildcats are second in the Pac-12 Conference.

This is the final meeting of the season between the teams. After winning the only earlier season game against Oregon State 86-74 at Gill Coliseum on January 12, their sixth straight head-to-head victory, Arizona will be looking for a season sweep. Tubelis led the Wildcats with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Michael Rataj had 18 points in the loss. The Beavers have been led this season by Pope and Glenn Taylor Jr., who are averaging 12.7 and 11.2 points per game, respectively. Taylor Jr. also has dished 2.6 assists per game. Meanwhile, Dzmitry Ryuny is grabbing 4.5 rebounds per game. Tubelis (20.9 ppg) has powered the Wildcats’ offense.

Tubelis also has pulled down 9.6 rebounds per game. Kerr Kriisa has doled out 5.7 assists per game. The Wildcats are one of the most explosive offenses in the country, ranking 10th with 83.3 points per game.

The Beavers have really struggled in recent games at McKale Memorial Center, losing each of the last 10. In the last 10 games, Oregon State is 2-8 with an average margin of -8.8 (58.8-67.6).
