The LSU Tigers (12-4, 1-3 SEC) will try to slow down one of the country’s top scoring teams when they head to face the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide (14-2, 4-0 SEC) on Saturday. LSU dropped their last game against the Florida Gators 67-56 at Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Tuesday, their third loss in a row.
KJ Williams was a top performer in the loss with 23 points and seven rebounds. The Tigers slipped to 13th in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama won their fifth in a row on Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena, beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 84-69.
Mark Sears had 26 points to lead the team. The Crimson Tide slipped to second in the Southeastern Conference. It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. LSU and Alabama split their matchups last season, taking one apiece. The Tigers took the last meeting 80-77 at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in March 2022.
Darius Days led the Tigers with 24 points and seven rebounds. Keon Ellis had 19 points and nine rebounds in the loss. Williams is averaging 18.5 points per game to lead the Tigers in scoring this season. Williams also has grabbed 7.6 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Justice Hill is dishing 3.7 assists.
Brandon Miller has been the primary provider of the Crimson Tide’s offense, averaging 18.8 points per game. Miller also has collected 8.2 rebounds per game. Jaden Bradley has doled out 3.7 assists per game. The Crimson Tide are one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, ranking 14th with 83.0 points per game.
