Best Bets To Win Each Conference Championship In College Basketball

Best Bets To Win Each Conference Championship In College Basketball
Thu 12th November 2020

With the NCAA basketball season set to tip off in less than two weeks, here are our best bets to take out each of the major conference championships and gain immediate access to the NCAA Tournament in March.

AAC Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Houston
Odds: +120
Single Bet Value: 5/10
Parlay Value: 8/10

Short favourite to win the ACC leading SMU at +400. Great parlay opportunity, still presents slight value as a single bet at +120.

ACC Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Duke
Odds: +230
Single Bet Value: 7/10
Parlay Value: 6/10

Duke are currently the second favourite behind Virginia (+200) to take out the ACC. Virginia has a quality basketball program and a serious talent in Sam Hauser at forward. However, given the impact Covid-19 has had, and will continue to have on college basketball, Mike Krzyzewski’s experience as head coach of the Blue Devils will shine through in a season like no other.

Big Ten Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Iowa
Odds: +275
Single Bet Value: 9/10
Parlay Value: 7/10

Iowa are the favourites to take out the Big 10 tournament and present great value at +275 for both single and parlay bets. The Hawkeyes will be led by centre Luka Garza, who is one of the most talented players in the country. Iowa is favoured ahead of Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan State, all at +350.

Big 12 Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Kansas
Odds: +170
Single Bet Value: 7/10
Parlay Value: 5/10

Kansas shares Big-12 favouritism with Baylor at +170. Given that West Virginia sits behind them both at +500, the bookmakers see this tournament as a two team race. Solid single bet value at +170, however tread with caution adding Kansas to your parlay given the strength of Baylor.

Big East Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Villanova
Odds: -105
Single Bet Value: 4/10
Parlay Value: 10/10

The current favourites to win the entire NCAA championship, Villanova are a lock to once again take out the Big East. -105 doesn’t offer much for a single bet, however would be a great boost to any parlay.

Pac-12 Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Arizona State
Odds: +275
Single Bet Value: 8/10
Parlay Value: 6/10

Trailing only UCLA (+250) to take out the Pac-12, Arizona State would be the favourite if they had the ‘brand/image’ that UCLA often boasts. Senior guard Remy Martin averaged 19.1 PPG last season and is the preseason frontrunner to be named Pac-12 Player of the Year. The Sun Devils have added five-star recruit Joshua Christopher and four-star recruit Marcus Bagley for the upcoming season.

SEC Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Kentucky
Odds: +170
Single Bet Value: 7/10
Parlay Value: 8/10

Kentucky are going to be a top 10 team again this season currently with the sixth best odds to win the NCAA Championship. The Wildcats lead Tennessee (+275) and LSU (+400) in the SEC, and present solid single bet value and great parlay value at +170.

WCC Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Gonzaga
Odds: -1000
Single Bet Value: 1/10
Parlay Value: 8/10

Gonzaga are the second favourite to win the NCAA Championship and currently offer the lowest conference championship odds in college basketball at -1000. The Zags are so short that a single bet would not be worth the outlaid risk. However they could certainly boost your parlay.

Mountain West Tournament

Best Bet To Win: San Diego Stage
Odds: +170
Single Bet Value: 7/10
Parlay Value: 7/10

San Diego State are the favourite to repeat as conference champions in the Mountain West. The Aztecs should cruise through Boise State (+250) and Utah State (+275), and are a solid bet for either a parlay or single at +170.

Atlantic 10 Tournament

Best Bet To Win: Saint Louis
Odds: +250
Single Bet Value: 7/10
Parlay Value: 4/10

Saint Louis shares Atlantic 10 favouritism with Richmond at +250. Great odds for a conference favourite. However given the strength of Richmond (+250) and Dayton (+285), I’d steer clear for a parlay.
